It was Christmas 2017. Full of food & feeling like I could pop at any time. I was so pleased to be invited to Staffordshire – Coiltek CTX 3030

My name is Neil Martens, I’m a Metal Detecting enthusiast. I live in the UK, North Wales. I’ve been detecting since 2013. I use the Minelab CTX 3030 and I think this is the best treasure detector out there today.

If your hobby is your job you never work a day in your life. Earlier this year I was faced with having to close my business down. I was reluctantly looking for a labouring job of some sort. I’ve been detecting on and off over the past fifteen years as a hobby with some success at times. I was talking with a gold mining friend one day about his new mining claim and he said “If your hobby is your job you never work a day in your life”. Which got me thinking maybe I could try gold detecting full time.

After suffering a lull in finding gold around virgin bushland in the Central Victorian Goldfields, I decided to head back to my car. I had wondered quite a distance away, so was following a bush track. Not being one to turn my detector off until I’m close to my vehicle, I decided to do the road verge, following the prospector’s ode of going low and slow. I was amazed at how many targets my 14” Elite Mono coil was picking up.

Hello, my name is Bruce and I am addicted to metal detecting. I dug my first find in June of 2013 and have not put the detector down since then.

Last week two mates and I had the chance to test run the new Minelab Monster machine and also do some detecting. Bill had the monster, Peter had the SDC2300 and I had the 5000 with my trusty 14” Coiltek Elite.
