Tell us about yourself

Metal Detecting parks, beaches, fields, and old site permissions around Western New York for the last 4 years.

What interested/attracted you to buy your first metal detector?

After a vacation to Myrtle Beach seeing several detectorists searching the wet and dry sand, curiosity pushed me to buy my first detector and try out the hobby. Since then, I was instantly hooked and now run several social media platforms and channels dedicated to the hobby!

When did you first use your Coiltek coil, and what was the experience like for you?

My first Coiltek was the 10×5 coil for the Equinox 800.It was a great sniper coil for that machine, and I eventually added the Nox18 coil as well. Now that I have the Manticore I will definitely be getting the Mythtek coil for that detector!

How has metal detecting benefitted your lifestyle?

Exercise, fresh air, and a constantly growing pile of treasures and relics. Metal Detecting has become a huge part of our lives and is transitioning into a full-time hobby with opportunities and monetisation.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to start metal detecting?

Have fun and dig everything! So many people pass up common junk VDI numbers thinking they are pulltabs or ring pulls. Those signals are also gold and silver rings, pendants, and earrings!

What has been your most significant experience or find to date?
